On the next day, we headed to Magdhi Zone of Bandhavgarh National Park for the long-awaited tiger safari. Although we hadn’t pre-booked our tickets online, the manager of Wildflower Resort was incredibly helpful in assisting us with spot booking. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to see some of the magnificent creatures that call the park home, including the elusive Royal Bengal tiger.
As we began our safari, our guide informed us that the Dotty tigress was spotted in this area quite frequently. We had our fingers crossed, hoping to catch a glimpse of this magnificent creature. And to our delight, we were lucky enough to see her female cub! Our guide told us that her mother was Sukhi Patia and father was Blue Eye, and her sister was Spotty. Seeing the little cub playing in her natural habitat was an experience that we will never forget.
Apart from the majestic tigers, we were also lucky enough to witness a plethora of other wildlife. The Indian peafowls put on a stunning display of their feathers, while we spotted more than 10 jungle fowls strutting around. The Greater Racket-tailed Drongo’s distinct sound was unmistakable, and we were fortunate enough to spot the White-naped Woodpecker, tapping away at a tree.
One of the highlights of the safari was undoubtedly spotting the White-eyed Buzzard perched on a tree branch, which was a rare sight. The bird’s piercing eyes seemed to follow us as we drove by, and we couldn’t help but feel in awe of its beauty.

The booking process was not smooth as it was a sudden plan for us, but the spot booking system was a pleasant addition which helped us a lot. Although we were sad to leave behind the beauty of Bandhavgarh, we were comforted by the memories we had made and the knowledge that we would always cherish this experience. As we boarded the train, we couldn’t help but reflect on the incredible adventure we had just experienced, and we knew that it would stay with us for years to come.
