On the first evening of our stay at the Wildflower Resort, we were thrilled to head out on a bird watching expedition with our guide, Narayan. He was an expert naturalist with an incredible knowledge of the local flora and fauna.
As we made our way through the nearby areas, we were surrounded by an array of beautiful trees and flowers that were in full bloom at this time of year. We spotted the vibrant orange flowers of the Butea monosperma, also known as the Flame of the Forest, as well as the fragrant white flowers of the Indian Cork Tree, and the delicate pink blossoms of the Silk Cotton Tree.
As we continued our walk, Narayan expertly pointed out various bird species, including the elegant Brahminy Starling, the striking Black Redstart, the colorful Rose-ringed Parakeet, and the charming Yellow-throated Sparrow or Chestnut-shouldered Petronia. We learned about their unique behaviors, calls, and plumage, and were thrilled to see them up close in their natural habitat.
Throughout the expedition, we walked approximately 6 kilometers in two hours, and enjoyed stunning views of the local scenery. Narayan was a fantastic guide, and his expert knowledge made the experience all the more enriching.
We were delighted to find out that this bird watching experience was complimentary, and we appreciated the resort’s commitment to providing their guests with exceptional experiences. It was wonderful to have the opportunity to explore the natural beauty of the area with such a knowledgeable guide.
We also had the opportunity to observe a troop of playful monkeys, who were busy jumping from tree to tree and chattering away. Narayan shared with us fascinating facts about the monkey behavior and their role in the local ecosystem.
Overall, our bird watching expedition with Narayan at the Wildflower Resort was a truly unforgettable experience. The stunning trees and flowers, vibrant birdlife, and expert guidance made it a highlight of our stay at the resort.
During our enchanting evening bird watching expedition with Narayan, the majestic Bandhavgarh Fort loomed in the distance, perched atop a hill that seemed to touch the sky. A treasure trove of legends and lore, the fort’s history spans over two millennia.
As we wandered through the nearby village areas, Narayan regaled us with tales of the fort’s past. One story spoke of how Lord Rama’s brother, Lakshmana, had built the fort as a watchful beacon, as per his brother’s wishes. Another spoke of how the saint and poet Kabir had once called the area near the fort home, and his hermitage still stood near the entrance. Narayan also shared that the fort had been occupied by dynasties such as the Chandela, Rajputs, and the Baghel over time.
Our sighting of the fort and the stories that accompanied it filled us with wonder, giving us a glimpse into the ancient history and culture of the region. It was a moment we would never forget, a memory etched in our hearts forever.
Overall, our experience at Wildflower Resort was nothing short of exceptional. The resort’s attention to detail and commitment to providing a memorable experience for their guests made our stay a truly unforgettable one. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a luxurious and tranquil getaway amidst nature.
